However there are certain factors that can influence performance which is why we have pulled together six handy tips to ensure your Numark Assist machine provides optimum system performance and therefore runs as fast as it can for your dispensing needs.
1 - Close ProScript Connect
Make sure applications are closed before you leave for the day. Leaving them running overnight can cause your machine to use more memory than needed the next day, resulting in performance issues.
2 - Restart your machine
Restarting your machine once or twice a week can speed up performance. This also prevents freezing, temporary files taking up system memory and Windows updates not being applied. After a restart, leave your machine running overnight to allow larger updates to your system.
3 - Limit internet browser tabs
Where possible, keep only the tabs you’re actively using and close any inactive tabs to prevent unnecessary memory usage.
4 - Unsupported applications
For all your pharmacy-essential programs to run at optimum speed, it’s vital that unsupported applications are not installed such as social media platforms. These take up vital memory and CPU usage. Unsupported third-party applications may also conflict with your anti-virus software and cause system downtime.
5 - Unsupported peripherals
Plugging unsupported equipment into the Netgear switch i.e. Wi-Fi routers, can drastically decrease the performance of your system and cause network conflicts and costly downtime. In some cases, plugging in unsupported equipment can completely disable your HSCN making modules such as ETP and ordering unavailable.
6 - Network equipment checks
Although not directly linked to your machine’s speed, it is important that all pharmacy staff are aware of the location of your router and switch. As many services are dependent on the network, being able to locate this equipment is essential to the troubleshooting process.
